A must-try easy to bake 5 ingredient dessert - Caramel Bread Pudding

Caramel Bread Pudding

Ingredients List:

  1. Sugar - ¼ cup + ½ cup
  2.  Bread slice - 6 pieces
  3.  Custard Powder - 4 tbsp
  4.  Water - ½ cup
  5.  Milk - 1 ½ cup
Procedure:

1. Pour  ¼ cup sugar in a pan and heat it till it turns a dark brown semi-liquid. And then, pour it out into a baking pan immediately.

2. Remove the bread edges and cut all the 6 bread slices into small parts. Next, grind the cut pieces and keep it aside for now.

3. In a small bowl, mix custard powder (4 tbsp) and water (½ cup) and keep it aside.

4.  Heat milk (1 ½ cup) in a pan and add sugar (½ cup) to it. Cook it at a medium flame till it starts to boil. Pour the (water + custard) mixture from step (3) into the pan and keep stirring while heating till the whole mixture thickens.

Next, lower the flame and gradually add the ground bread from step (2) and mix the whole thing properly.

5. For the last step, pour the mixture from step (4) into the baking pan with caramel sugar mentioned in step (1) and bake it for around 20 - 30 minutes. If you don't have an oven, then you can also cook it at a medium flame for the same length of time with a closed lid.

Once baked, let it cool and come down to the room temperature. Next, keep it in the refrigerator for 2 hours after which, it is ready to be served.

It definitely is one of my favorite desserts to bake at home since its has a small list of ingredients that are easily available and is also really easy to make. Above all, its taste is sweet and savory which is the most important factor.
